Variety assists Manitoba children living with special needs and experiencing economic disadvantage. We rely 100% on the generosity of our community to provide the specialized equipment and services children receive from Variety.

Please call us at 1-204-982-1050 or email us at [email protected] . We will need to know your contact information, the amount of your gift, the approximate date of your gift, and the payment method in order to quickly provide you with a replacement receipt.

We try to issue tax receipts within a month of your gift to Variety. On occasion, it may take longer than this. Variety is compliant with Canada Revenue Agency standards for issuing tax receipts.

Monthly donors can make changes to their monthly donation by contacting us at 1-204-982-1050.

Variety is proud that it has operated for over 40 years without operational funding from any level of government. This allows us to be strong, unbiased advocates for the children we serve.

Variety relies 100% on the generosity of individuals, companies, and other organizations to fund our vital work.

Variety does accept in-kind donations of products and services to help us generate revenue or offset costs. Generally speaking, we will only accept new products.

To ensure that donors to Variety, the Children’s Charity of Manitoba have full confidence in our Tent and our mission, the following donors’ rights are recognized.

All Donors have the following rights:

1. To be clear about our mission and how Variety, the Children’s Charity of Manitoba intends to spend their donations
2. To know that their donation will be used for the purpose for which it was given
3. To trust that information about their donation will remain confidential to the extent provided by law
4. To be assured that their donation will be banked promptly and spent within a reasonable time
5. To receive appropriate thanks and recognition
6. To receive, upon request, all published financial statements
7. To know that complaints will be taken seriously, handled promptly and responses will be sent swiftly
8. To seek accurate professional advice on tax efficient giving methods
9. To receive prompt and accurate answers to questions
10. To be provided with reports on the way that funds have been spent
11. To be treated professionally and with respect during fundraising campaigns
12. To choose to be excluded from any future solicitations
13. To expect that there is a fair and proper balance between the interests of donors and the aims and objectives of Variety, the Children’s Charity of Manitoba
14. To know that there is no obligation to buy an incentive or to return it
15. To know whether an individual soliciting funds is a volunteer, an employee, a hired solicitor or other
16. To have the right to remain anonymous
17. To know that donor names will never be sold
18. To request that their name not be exchanged for fundraising purposes
