Variety Manitoba invites you to join them in their efforts to support and empower children so that they can participate more fully in life’s activities by volunteering for a board position.
Variety, the Children’s Charity of Manitoba steps in where government, healthcare, and other funding ends to provide direct assistance to children in our province who are living with special needs and experiencing economic disadvantage.
You are a community-minded individual who strongly believes in the concept of creating a world where all children play, learn, and live together, and are provided equal opportunity to do so. You enjoy organizing, supporting, and attending events and fundraisers. You are passionate about fundraising and/ or making a difference for children. You value collaboration, compassion, empowerment, and inclusion. You believe in the importance of promoting Variety to a new, diverse audience with a simplified, unified voice. You have a skillset or community connections that will assist us in helping the community we support.
Board Member terms are set in two year increments to a maximum of ten years. The average time commitment is five hours per month; additional hours may be needed depending on which areas of the organization you become involved with. Duties and opportunities include:
• Participating in, setting, and monitoring the strategic direction of Variety Manitoba
• Regular attendance and participation in Board meetings (eight meetings per annum) and Committees (typically four per annum)
• Represent Variety Manitoba at organizationally-run events
