Bordered on three sides by glimmering water, Variety’s Camp Brereton provides an opportunity for all children of all abilities to experience the great outdoors and the thrill of a great camping experience.
Originally built in 1937 by the Canadian Girls in Training, a group associated with the United Church, the Camp was gifted to Variety in 2002. The CGIT considered several charities to be the recipient of the camp; they chose Variety for our continued dedication to enhancing the quality of life for children and youth of all abilities.
Over the years, many significant modifications have been made to the site to make it more accessible. Visually impaired campers can maneuver their way around camp with the aid of the white railings and landscape markers throughout the camp. One cabin is also complete with an accessible shower and washroom facilities. The main lodge, dining hall and deck, as well as all staff and camper cabins are also wheelchair accessible with ramps. Safety is one of our top priorities and all precautions are taken to ensure campers are safe while having fun.
