Diagnosis: Muscular Dystrophy
Request: Respite Care (52 weeks, 4 hours per week)
Three-year-old Henry is living with Muscular Dystrophy, a group of diseases that cause progressive weakness and loss of muscle mass. As a result of receiving weekly respite care for Henry, the family has experienced better ability to manage Henry’s care, been able to balance family life responsibilities, and have been able to take care of themselves both physically and emotionally. Without respite support, Henry’s family would find it challenging to maintain such a positive and effective balance in their family. Henry has also directly benefitted from respite care by building new relationships with staff and moving towards independence with the opportunity to attend daycare, which his respite worker provides transportation to. You can help Henry and his family today by donating towards his respite care.
